The US Fireplace Top Damper provides an energy tight seal for any fireplace while also providing rain and animal protection. The stainless steel and aluminum construction will ensure the damper will not rust. The US Fireplace Top Damper is an energy efficient way to prevent any heat or air conditioning loss when the fireplace is not being used. Unlike leaky traditional throat fireplace dampers, the Top Damper has a silicone gasket that ensures the damper is fully closed. When the damper is locked and closed it is virtually out of sight at the top of the chimney.
The US Fireplace Top Damper comes with the mounting hardware, 30' cable with handle and adhesive. Other than a few tools, the Top Damper comes with everything you need for the installation and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty. The Top Damper is very easy to install and includes detailed instructions. The unique spring system ensures the damper closes securely, even with a chimney with offsets.
Note: Do not use top dampers with gas logs - failure to open the damper with gas logs could result in carbon monoxide to back up in the home. Also, in the event of a gas leak & gas is trapped in the chimney, it could result in an explosion.
