Straightforward Installation Process

Preparing Everguard Insulation Mix is simple: gradually add 4-7 gallons of water to the 45 lb bag, which covers 2.5 cubic feet. The mix is perfectly hydrated when it holds together firmly when squeezed, with no water seeping out. Once prepared, gently pour the mixture around your chimney liner, shaking the liner slightly to help the material settle evenly. Allow 24-48 hours for the mix to solidify and cure. Important Installation Tip:

We strongly recommend using a chimney balloon to prevent any insulation mix from leaking into your fireplace or down into your cleanout door at the base of your chimney. For instance, inflating a chimney balloon just below the thimble will effectively block the insulation mix from filling the flue cavity beneath that point. Remember to remove the chimney balloon before lighting a fire.

Additional Details:

• Application: Poured into the chimney after the stainless steel liner has been installed.
• Even Distribution: Distribute evenly around the liner and gently vibrate the liner by firmly tapping it while pouring the insulation.
• Thermal Expansion: The insulating material must be placed 6" below the crown to accommodate vertical thermal expansion.
• Safety Check: Ensure no insulation mix has accidentally fallen into the liner itself.
• Post-Installation Curing: The heating appliance or fireplace can be used after installation. To facilitate a gradual drying process of the insulating material, maintain flue gas temperatures below 700 degrees F for a period of three weeks.
• Zero Clearance Rating: A 1" layer of Everguard Insulation Mix between the liner and 4" nominal masonry provides a zero-clearance listing from the chimney masonry exterior to combustibles.
• Accessibility: The insulation is removable if necessary.
