How to Measure Your Chimney
Accurate measurements ensure a perfect fit. Here’s how to measure:
- For flue tiles: Measure the outside length, width, and height of the clay tile.
- For chimneys without flue tiles: Measure the length and width of the chimney opening. (You’ll need our Leg Kit for this installation.)
If your chimney has multiple flues, confirm the lid size will allow caps to sit side by side. If not, check out our Multi-Flue Chimney Caps for a custom solution.
Easy Installation
Protecting your flue is straightforward with these simple steps:
- Apply a bead of high-quality exterior silicone along the top edge of the clay flue tile.
- Place the chimney cap over the flue and press it firmly in place.
- Gently tighten the pressure screws until they make contact with the tile – avoid overtightening.
For chimneys without flue tiles, use our Heavy-Duty Leg Kit and apply silicone where the cap meets the chimney crown.
