Critical Sizing & Installation Guidance

The pot must be installed in a bed of mortar on the masonry chimney cap. To ensure maximum safety and proper draft, the following rules are essential:

1. Non-Impingement is Mandatory: The pot's base must not encroach upon the inside area of your existing flue liner.

2. Accurate Measurement is Required: All listed flue liner sizes are NOMINAL and subject to variation. You must accurately measure your specific flue liner before ordering. (Reminder: Square liners are nominally sized using outside dimensions; round liners use inside dimensions.)

Security Recommendations: For additional anchoring against high-wind or seismic activity, holes (1/4”–1/2” diameter) can be drilled into the pot's sides, allowing non-corrosive metal bars to anchor the pot securely into the chimney structure, supplementing the required minimum 2-inch mortar base.
